it out for 30 days. You can cancel your account automatically within your control panel,

What is virtual hosting?
Virtual Hosting is an option that allows a company or individual to lease part of a
server to store their website's data, rather than pay for an entire machine with more
space than they need. As part of our virtual hosting we provide a dedicated IP address as
opposed to a shared IP.
What are FrontPage extensions and do you support them?
If you are using FrontPage to design and build your web site you will need your web
host to have FrontPage extensions installed on their server. All of our hosting packages
support FrontPage 98 and 2000.
Can I access my domain address without the
"www"?
Yes, you can access your domain address with or without the "www" in front of
the domain name. The "www" is a tertiary domain name that isn't necessary if
your nameserver is set up properly.
Do you offer SSL encryption for transferring credit
card information?
YES! The servers we use is equipped with the latest SSL technology so your customers
can safely order your products or services online! Normally, any text sent from your
browser is sent as plain text. This means that a hacker could potentially intercept the
information sent from your browser and read it.
By using the secure server (SSL), the information is encrypted before it is sent. You DO
NOT have to buy a security certificate to enable the secure server - you can use ours FREE
of charge. We will provide you with the name of the server when your account is activated!
Can I upload pages frequently?
Each account comes with an FTP/Telnet account. You have full access to your space via
FTP 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
How long does it take to set up my account?
Your account will usually be set up within 4 hours from
the time you signed up.
What is a cgi-bin and how do I get one?
A CGI-bin is where you store CGI scripts. These scripts; are used to generate online
order forms, guestbooks, shopping carts, counters, and more. All Houseofhosting.Com
hosting packages include their own CGI-bin.
What CGI Scripts come already installed?
All Houseofhosting.Com hosting packages comes with a hit counter, a search engine, a
site creation tool, a form e-mailer, and a file manager. If you are interested in adding
more CGI scripts to your account, you may do so.
What is the Account Control Panel?
The Account Control Panel makes managing your web space fun and easy. This
extraordinary interface offers you a way to quickly view account-related information and
provides easy access to the wide variety of tools and utilities that come with your
account. With the click of a mouse, you can administer your web space, e-mail accounts,
directories, cgi-bin (program script storage area) and all the special features offered,
including site statistics. You can even add additional features to your account whenever
you need them. Gain control and flexibility to make changes within your own time frame and
according to your own particular business needs.

Do you host foreign domains?
Yes. All domain names will work with Houseofhosting.com accounts.
What are auto responders and how many do I
receive with my account?
You can set up auto responders to automatically respond to incoming email. For example,
if you had an order form which your customers email to you, you can set up an auto
responder to email the customer a confirmation message that their message was received.

What are email aliases and how many can I use?
Email aliases are email addresses that you create. Any mail sent to these aliases would
automatically be forwarded to your existing POP email account or redirected to another
third party POP account.
You can have as many email aliases as you want, your mail account is pre-configured to
"Catch All" email directed at anyname@yourdomain.com.
Does my account come with web statistic
software?
Traffic analysis software comes pre-installed with every web hosting account! We use
HTTP-Analyze and it is very easy to access.
If you already have an account with us, you can access your weekly stats by typing
http://yourdomain.com/stats/.
Do you have a database system?
We use MySQL. We have found that our members prefer MySQL because it is a relatively
easy-to-use database program. Visit www.mysql.com for
more information.
Does each virtual server have its own raw log
files?
Yes. You have your own raw log files.
What version of Perl does Houseofhosting.Com
use?
We use version 5.6.0 Perl modules CGI.pm and LWP are installed.
Does Houseofhosting.Com offer SSI?
SSI is on all of our servers. You just need to be sure that you call your files with
the .shtml extension. |
